Part 4/Finale: Anyone can do video marketing - yes, even you!

This is part of my series that stemmed from a recent webinar I did for the Fort Collins Internet Pros (FCIP) group.

How to be on videos without being on videos

Transcript of the video:

Third myth: “I'm a private person. I don't like putting myself out there.”

This is a very real concern and I totally get it.

Here's some ideas. Lots of people just record footage of their surroundings and use text and audio. I've already shown a couple examples of that. You can use photos in a montage, you can record others like the client testimonial, you can hire people, or you can even use pets.

The last idea I have is just record a demo on screen capture. If you don't want to be the little round person talking head on the lower side of the screen, you can just leave that off if you're using like Loom or something like that. And you could just have a screen capture.

Two apps that you could use [for screen captures] are:

One thing I will say is that over time your comfort level with video might change. So, you know, this label of like not wanting to be the person who goes on camera might not be a label that's there forever. It may not always be true.

So you might progress to being a sort of on camera person. Some examples [of how you can progress to being “sort of” on camera] are like recording a short intro, then using like b-roll footage with a voiceover and ending with like a wrap up video. That's one way that you can kind of limit your on-camera exposure.

You could film just part of you like your hands typing or your feet walking, or like knitting.

You can speed up footage - do a time lapse that way.

And you could have someone interview you. It just kind of makes it feel more natural. It takes the focus off of you, makes it feel more like a conversation. So those are some ways that maybe you can progress to.

I hope this series has been helpful! You can watch part 1, part 2, and part 3 again and again and again, as much as you want. No one’s gonna judge you for it!😊
